Job Title: Goalie Assistant/Puck Shooter
Location: Grey Bruce Ontario Arenas
Position Type: Part-Time
Grey Bruce Goaltending is seeking experienced hockey players to join our team. This role is integral in providing high-quality training for goaltenders of all ages and skill levels. Goalie assistants will be responsible for delivering consistent, accurate, and varied shots to help goalies improve their skills and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shoot numerous amounts of pucks consistently.
- Listen to instruction from coaches.
- Ability to explain drill to goalie if coach is not available (willing to teach)
- Provide feedback to goalies and coaches on shot patterns and goalie performance.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed to prevent injuries during training sessions.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down training drills and equipment.
- Arrive 15 minutes ahead of ice time for coaches meeting.
- Foster a positive and encouraging environment for goalies to learn and improve.
- Bring energy and enthusiasm!
Qualifications:
- Previous experience playing hockey at a competitive level, preferably U15+.
- Strong understanding of hockey.
- Ability to deliver accurate and consistent shots at various speeds and angles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Patience and enthusiasm for working with goaltenders of all ages and skill levels.
- Physical fitness and stamina to participate in extended training sessions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in coaching or training hockey players, bonus if goaltenders.
- Knowledge of basic goaltending techniques (t-push, shuffle, butterfly, power slide).
